Measuring Fat Content Content of
Your Body

results because there are other factors inside the body which affects
or adds
to its impedance such as water inside the body, temperature of the
skin,
physical activity, etc… Therefore it is advisable to starve
for at least 3
hours prior to the test. Avoiding any kinds of physical exercises or
activities
12 hours before the test are also expected to attain accurate results.
- Skinfold
Caliper –
most preferred among all types of measuring fats in the body. You
should have enough knowledge how to use them correctly to acquire
accurate results. You may also seek help from professionals if you do
not know how to use them.
- Hydrostatic
Weighing –
the most accurate way to measure body fats. It is often referred to as
“under water weighing” inside a hydrostatic tank,
if you can find any. This method is based on the principle of
Archimedes which states that “the
amount of water displaced when an object is partially or totally
immersed in water is proportional to the weight of that object.”
The amount of body fat is then determined basing on the density of your
body. Of course, there are other computations involve in this process.
The thing is, it is the most accurate method of fat measurement.
By tracking
the loss and gain of the fats in your body,
you can immediately determine the course to take to maintain and
improve it.
So, measuring the body fat could also be one of the most important
factors in
weight loss.
